Santa Monica
If you have ever watched American films, you are probably familiar with one of the most iconic beaches in the U.S and more specifically in California.
Santa Monica pier is one of those staples of American culture. This is where many tourists from all corners of the globe come and gather to watch the California Sunset.
There is a small amusement park at the pier where you can bring the whole family to enjoy the day. You can also enjoy some very nice restaurants and bars around the area.

Redondo Beach
This is one of my favorite beaches in L.A county. I actually live close by The Redondo Beach Pier. This is a less crowded less popular beach. You won’t find as many tourists like Santa Monica or Venice, as this is more of a beach where the locals hang out.
The vibe is quieter and relaxed. However, this spot also offers a lot of activities to make a day out of it.
At the Pier you’ll find a fish market where you can have lunch or dinner. You’ll also find a paddle board rental place.
If you walk south towards the peninsula you’ll run into the “Hollywood Riviera” where you’ll find all sorts of bars and restaurants of all kinds.

Malibu

We have all heard about Malibu. One of the most exclusive zipcodes in the U.S. Where some celebrities usually own a beach home overlooking the ocean.
Some spots in Malibu have incredible views of the ocean, there are trails and hikes you can take during your visit to Malibu.
One of my favorite things to do in Malibu is to go wine tasting. Here are a few options to explore when visiting Malibu.

Manhattan Beach

Manhattan Beach is also one of my favorite beaches in L.A county. The vibe here feels a little bit more upscale than the rest of the beaches I am describing in this article (except for Malibu of course). You’ll see surfers riding waves early in the morning and as the day goes by you’ll see less of these creatures and more families hanging out by the beach.
You can take a walk on the strand or ride your bike if you prefer. One of my favorite things in Manhattan beach is the architecture displayed by the amazing houses right on the strand.

Hermosa Beach

Next to Manhattan beach is Hermosa Beach. I actually look at them as the same beach as they are right next to each other and you can walk back and forth between them. Hermosa beach has some amazing low key bars, pubs and restaurants right by the pier. You’ll feel a lively vibe while people eat and drink by the pier. Lots of people on their bikes, and skateboards.
